EXCERPS FROM BOOK - KINGDOM MINDSET The Unvarnished Truth of True Breakthrough
The Sacrifice Nobody Dares to Talk About
Forget the feel-good sermons and motivational platitudes. True breakthrough isn’t a sudden burst of luck or an emotional high. It’s a seismic shift in your reality, tangible results that scream ‘God did that!’ It’s your finances turning around, relationships healing, habits breaking, and a peace descending that defies all circumstances. This isn’t about mere improvement; it’s about undeniable transformation.
So why do so few truly experience it? Because they aren’t willing to pay the price. They crave the promise without enduring the process. The specific cost required isn’t a simple offering; it’s the surgical removal of everything that stands between you and your divine destiny. This isn’t about surface-level religious activities or comfortable Christianity. This is about a profound, often painful, internal transformation that demands your absolute all.
What must be laid on the altar? We’re talking about the deeply ingrained thought patterns that have sabotaged your progress for years: your comfort zones, your fear of failure, your victim mentality, the idolization of human reason over divine instruction, and the relentless need to be understood. Prepare to confront and dismantle the very foundations of your limited self. This is where the real work begins, and it’s not for the faint of heart.

The Cost of Kingdom Authority
Every believer wants breakthrough. Everybody wants promotion. Everyone desires the promised land. But nobody wants to talk about the sacrifice required to get there. And I’m not talking about fasting from chocolate or giving up Netflix for Lent. I’m talking about the deep, painful, uncomfortable sacrifice of your corrupt thought patterns.
The ancient wisdom makes it painfully clear: ‘There can be no progress, no achievement, without sacrifice.’ Not might require sacrifice. Not sometimes involves sacrifice. Absolutely, definitively, no-exceptions REQUIRES sacrifice.
And what are you sacrificing? Your right to think however you want. Your justification for negative patterns. Your attachment to victim narratives. Your comfort with familiar dysfunctions.
Most people aren’t willing to make that sacrifice. They want transformation without the hard work of renewing their mind. They want Kingdom results while maintaining worldly thought patterns. They want to ascend without letting go of what’s anchoring them to defeat.
It doesn’t work that way.

The text says: ‘A man’s worldly success will be in measure of his sacrifice of confused animal thoughts, and the fixing of his mind on the development of his plans, and the strengthening of his resolution and self-reliance.’
Confused animal thoughts. What are those?
Base Instincts
Thoughts driven by base instincts instead of Kingdom purposes
Reactionary Thinking
Reacting instead of responding with intention
Survival Mentality
Operating from a place of scarcity and fear
Fear-Based Decisions
Making choices driven by apprehension and anxiety
Selfish Preservation
Prioritizing self over the greater good or divine will
Fleshly Desires
Fleshly desires disguised as needs
You want real success? You have to SACRIFICE those patterns. Not manage them. Not balance them. SACRIFICE them.
And here’s what kills me about modern Christianity—we’ve made sacrifice optional. We preach grace without discipline. Blessing without obedience. Promotion without preparation. And then we wonder why the church is powerless.
My Own Sacrifice

Let me tell you what sacrifice looked like in my own life. When I finally decided to move from religious playing to Kingdom authority, God showed me something uncomfortable: I had to sacrifice my need to be liked.
Sounds simple? It wasn’t.
I had built a ministry on being the sweet grandmother figure everyone loved. I didn’t challenge. I didn’t confront. I gave people what they wanted to hear because it kept them happy and kept me safe.
Then God said, ‘Sacrifice that. I need a prophetic voice, not a religious cheerleader.’
That meant sacrificing approval. Sacrificing comfort. Sacrificing relationships that couldn’t handle truth. It was brutal. People left. Invitations stopped. The nice comfortable community I’d built started scattering.
But you know what rose from that sacrifice? Authority. Power. Breakthrough for thousands who were starving for truth instead of religious candy. The sacrifice of my people-pleasing thoughts opened the door for Kingdom impact I could never have achieved while playing it safe.
It’s directly proportional. Your level of achievement is determined by your level of sacrifice. Not your talent. Not your connections. Not your opportunities. Your willingness to sacrifice the thoughts that keep you small.

Now, let me be specific about what thought patterns you need to sacrifice if you want Kingdom breakthrough:

SACRIFICE THE VICTIM MENTALITY
Stop rehearsing what was done TO you and start claiming what you’ll do WITH God. Yes, bad things happened. Yes, people hurt you. Yes, life was unfair. Now sacrifice those thoughts and pick up thoughts of victory.
SACRIFICE OFFENSE
That grudge you’re nursing? That justified bitterness? That righteous anger? It’s poison. Sacrifice it. Not because they deserve your forgiveness—because YOU deserve your freedom.
SACRIFICE SMALL THINKING
Those limitations you’ve accepted? Those ‘realistic’ expectations? That sensible pragmatism that’s really just dressed-up unbelief? Sacrifice it all. God’s not calling you to sensible—He’s calling you to supernatural.
SACRIFICE COMFORT
The cozy familiar patterns that keep you safe but small. The routines that protect you from risk. The comfort zones that have become prison cells. Sacrifice them. Growth lives on the other side of discomfort.

SACRIFICE SELF-PITY
The ‘nobody understands me’ narrative. The ‘I’ve had it harder than others’ story. The ‘if only my circumstances were different’ excuse. Burn them all. They’re anchors preventing your ascent.
SACRIFICE WORLDLY VALIDATION
The need for applause. The craving for recognition. The addiction to approval. Sacrifice them. Kingdom authority operates outside the world’s validation system.
What Happens When You Make These Sacrifices
Now here’s what happens when you make these sacrifices: You create space for Kingdom thoughts to take root.
The ancient text says: ‘The higher he lifts his thoughts, the more manly, upright, and righteous he becomes, the greater will be his success, the more blessed and enduring will be his achievements.’
HIGHER thoughts require sacrificing LOWER thoughts. You can’t have both. Your mind isn’t infinite. Every toxic thought you’re protecting is occupying space that Kingdom thoughts need.
I’ve watched people pray for breakthrough while clutching their dysfunction. Begging God for change while refusing to sacrifice the thoughts that created their current reality. Demanding miracles while maintaining the mentality that produced their mess.
It’s like praying for a harvest while refusing to pull the weeds. The weeds aren’t just neutral—they’re actively choking out what you’re asking God to grow.

The Uncomfortable Question
So here’s the uncomfortable question: What thought patterns are you unwilling to sacrifice?
Not ‘what should you sacrifice’—what are you UNWILLING to sacrifice?
What patterns feel so justified, so reasonable, so much a part of your identity that giving them up feels impossible?
That’s exactly what’s blocking your breakthrough.
The text gives us a principle most people miss: ‘Intellectual achievements are not the outcome of vanity and ambition—they are the natural outgrowth of long and arduous effort, and of pure and unselfish thoughts.’
Long and arduous effort. Not quick and easy. Not comfortable and convenient. LONG. ARDUOUS. That’s sacrifice language.
And spiritual accomplishments? ‘The consummation of holy aspirations. He who lives consistently in the conception of noble and lofty thoughts, who dwells upon all that is pure and selfless, will become wise and noble in character.’
LIVES CONSISTENTLY. DWELLS UPON. That’s sacrifice of every competing thought pattern.
Your Assignment
So here’s your assignment, and it’s going to cost you:
Identify the ONE thought pattern that’s been holding you back the longest. Not five patterns. ONE. The big one. The justified one. The one you’ve been protecting.
Then—and this is the sacrifice—KILL IT.
Not manage it. Not reduce it. Not balance it with positive thoughts. KILL IT COMPLETELY.
Violently Reject It
Every time it shows up, violently reject it.
Cast It Down
Every time it tries to justify itself, cast it down.
Slam the Door
Every time it knocks on your mental door, slam the door in its face.
Replace with Truth
Replace it immediately with Kingdom truth.
Not someday. IMMEDIATELY. The space left by sacrifice must be filled with Kingdom thoughts or the old pattern will creep back in.
This will be uncomfortable. You’ll feel naked without your familiar patterns. You’ll be tempted to pick them back up. You’ll want to negotiate and compromise.
Don’t.
The sacrifice is required. Not suggested. Required.

Your level of Kingdom authority is waiting on the other side of your willingness to sacrifice the thoughts that contradict it.
Make the sacrifice. Then watch what God does with someone who’s finally created space for Him to work.
